Déjà vu

I was just going to write a blog talking about the imminent arrival of Christmas and how it has actually started at home already. Suddenly I had a dejá vu and remembered that last year, about this time, I wrote another blog about the same topic. So I went to check it up.

OMG. It’s so spooky, because I was thinking about writing exactly the same words! I can’t believe I’ve done it again!

- Starting buying Christmas presents? Check
- Put the Christmas Tree up? Check!
- Written most of the Christmas Cards? Check!!!

The only difference with last year’s post is that we won’t be spending Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in Spain. Last year’s Christmas was a bit stressful for my family and it was decided that this year we would meet up for New Year’s Eve and go to one of this hotels that organise dinner and party afterwards. This way nobody has to stress about cooking for so many people and tidying up afterwards, and entertaining 12+ people.

Xmas

So Jon and I are going to be spending our first Christmas Day together alone! No family! In a way it’s a bit sad, because Christmas is the time of the year to be with your loved ones. On the other hand, we are quite excited to have our own La Chica-Payne style Christmas Day, with turkey dinner, opening the presents and drinking mulled wine whilst watching Home Alone or some other typical film :) Good news is that we will be seeing all of Jon’s family on Boxing Day, and that should be nice too.

We are also going to host a Pre-Christmas get together in our house with Paul, Olga and Jana. We’ve been in this house for 3 years and we’ve never had these people over… ever! Sad, eh?! We’ve had a few dinner parties, but mainly family and Mr B, but never close friends. Funny thing is, this may be our last Christmas in this house, so we have to make the most out of it!
